Begin your Amsterdam city tour by boarding your air-conditioned coach in central Amsterdam. With thousands of monuments and historic buildings, Amsterdam has the largest historical city center in Europe. The city is distinguished by its three rings of canals lined by elaborately decorated merchants' residences and warehouses built in the 17th century, the Dutch Golden Age. When the canals were built, 90 islands were created, connected by hundreds of charming bridges.
As you travel through Amsterdam, your knowledgeable guide will point out the many fascinating sights in the old and newer parts of this beautiful city. Admire highlights such as the Royal Palace, National Monument, the Skinny Bridge and Albert Cuyp Market. You will also see quaint gabled houses, visit a windmill on the River Amstel and stop at a diamond factory where you can watch gems being polished using traditional methods. This last stop is an optional visit that will last approximately 45 minutes.
For a more in-depth Amsterdam sightseeing experience, opt to add on a canal cruise or a visit to the Rijksmuseum. Your 1-hour cruise takes you along canals lined with 17th-century merchant houses, centuries-old warehouses and churches with bell towers. You will also pass through Amsterdam's old harbor.

Good tour. We went to the location for the bus tour, however one could have easily missed the tour as they departed about 5 mins early. Did not use our optional canal cruise due to time restrains.
A nice evening but it was to include a walking tour of the Red Light District but they cancelled that portion and we didn't find out until the very end that it wasn't going to happen.
We actually did not signup for the canal part of this tour. Originally we had chosen Rijksmuseum after the sightseeing tour, but Viator messed up in the tour guides' system and we had to call the local office to get it sorted out. That being said, the tour group was very nice and accommodating of this error and comped us the canal cruise as a goodwill gesture which they did not have to do since it was not their error. Sightseeing Tour - A lot of fun! The first bus tour we went on where there was a live person speaking to us the entire trip instead of being plugged into speakers. Fanny, our guide, was very informative and gave a lot of side commentary along the way. The tour takes you throughout the whole of Amsterdam and they even stop at a local windmill for you to take pictures! Unbeknownst to us, the tour is 2.5-3 hours long because there is a one-hour stop at the Diamond Museum which ended up being very interesting despite it being a sneaky attempt at getting you to buy some bling. Our driver, Stef, was very nice and even played Hallelujah on his keyboard in the bus! Though not while driving. We would give the bus tour itself 5 stars! Canal Cruise - Cruises depart every 30 minutes and last an hour. The cruise is fairly informative and the sights to see are on both sides of the boat so pick any seat. We chose to sit outside, but it wasn't raining and wasn't too cold. The tour was your run-of-the-mill experience, though it would have been nice if they explained the sounds the ship was going to make as it tried to weave through the narrow passageways! Rijksmuseum - What a museum! It is massive. Definitely recommend getting there early to avoid as much of the crowds as possible. You could literally spend days in this museum. We would suggest downloading the museum's free tour guide app before your visit so you can plan ahead of time which sections of time you want to make sure you visit. The museum provides sketchbooks and pencils so you to participate in the art experience and have both a cafe and restaurant on site for when you need to take a break before continuing on your sightseeing journey through the ages.
It was out first tour with Viator and the experience was too good. Amsterdam city tour with expert and friendly guide was fun filled and memorable. Our guide was not only informative but she was a knowledgeable person, we realized this especially during our visit to Art gallery and Gems factory. Observing view of Amsterdam while sailing in canal cruise was unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wish to be in Amsterdam again and again.
This tour was amazing!
