Learn all about Thai boxing, and see a Thai Boxing match in one of the biggest stadiums in Bangkok.
See the strange rules, or lack of them, that allow the boxers to not only use their fists for punching, but their feet and knees for kicking or pushing, and their elbows for jabbing while striking any part of the opponent's body.
Still, the matches of today are much less bloody than those that took place years ago. Back then there were no gloves, the boxer's hands and arms were bound only with knotted starched cord, and things got gory pretty fast! Our guide picked us up at the hotel right on time - no badge or shirt to indicate he was with viator, but he did ask for the voucher, which was reassuring. Water was waiting for us in a big, air conditioned van for the 1 drive. We arrived at the stadium where the guide helped us get our tickets and to our seats - we had lots of questions, about the stadium, about the hand motions and betting happening in the stands, how scoring works, but because the guide didnt stay with us, we werent able to ask and when we did ask questions on the way about the stadium and history stuff we got a couple word answers. The fights themselves were amazing, and the ringside seats were really a once in a lifetime experience - but 140 for an English speaking guide who barely speaks to you and a ride when the ringside seats bought at the stadium are only about 60? Could have taken an Uber or taxi there and back for less.
Our guide picked us up at our hotel right on time and delivered us to the arena where we had ring-side seats. The match was outstanding and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The guide stayed in the arena and met us afterwards to deliver us back to our hotel. Everything ran like clockwork and I would absolutely recommend this activity.
