Forbidden City Schedule:

• Slow Season: November 1st to March 31st (Tuesday to Sunday) - Last Entry is at 15:30

This was a must during tourist season! Followed directions...went to main ticket gate with passports and all 3 passport numbers came up under my reservation. We were in a about 2 minutes. Good thing we had booked early, they were sold out for the next few days. FYI...water bottles are about $.50 US, don’t bother lugging your own water. Just buy it cold!

The admission ticket I received through the viator was not accepted at the Forbidden City site. It was supposed to have my passport number and the ticket I received had a random number. Had to spend about more than an hour trying to understand what was wrong and I finally bought a new ticket for 60 yuan at the site.

No issues, although directions on where to actually go were confusning, we simply walked to the main entrance which is well within the actual entrance, more than you wil think haneded over passports to ticket person who typed in and allowed us entry, no problems.

Did not go well. Because of the People's Congress, security was tight and it took 3 hours to get through security. By the time we got through, admission was closed. We didn't even get to claim the tickets. I don't want to give Viator a bad star rating because it wasn't their fault. I'll try again on my next trip, maybe. The rest of my Beijing experience was good, so I'm just giving a three-star rating.
