The In Flanders' Fields Museum is a museum in Ypres, Belgium, dedicated to the study of the First World War. It occupies the second floor of the Cloth Hall on the market square in the city centre. The building was largely destroyed by artillery during the war, but was afterwards reconstructed.

Zonnebeke is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the villages of Beselare, Gheluvelt, Passendale, Zandvoorde and Zonnebeke proper.

Pass By: Vladslo German War Cemetery, Houtlandstraat, Diksmuide 8600 Belgium

ladslo German war cemetery is about three kilometres north east of Vladslo, near Diksmuide, Belgium. Established during World War I, the cemetery holds 3,233 wartime burials.

Pass By: Hill 60, Zwarteleenstraat 36-40, Ieper (Ypres) 8902 Belgium

Hill 60 is a World War I battlefield memorial site and park in the Zwarteleen area of Zillebeke south of Ypres, Belgium.

Stop At: Essex Farm Cemetery, east side of the N369 Ieper - Boezinge Rd, Ieper (Ypres) Belgium

This was the dressing station where Dr. John McCrae wrote the famous poem "in Flanders Fields".

Stop At: Passchendaele Prints & Battlefield Tours, Sint-Godelievestraat 8, Ieper (Ypres) 8900 Belgium

Near the town of Ieper in Belgium is Passchendaele and Tyne Cot Cemetery, the largest Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery in the world. It is now the resting place of more than 11,900 servicemen of the British Empire from the First World War.

Stop At: Last Post ceremony, Menin Gate, Ieper (Ypres) Belgium

A daily tribute to all commonwealth soldiers and officers that were missing after battle.

Easy to book and organisation of the tour was excellent. Guide was very knowledgable and passionate about the subject. Would sincerely recommend it to anyone with an interest in the area and World War 1. Although I knew a fair bit about the topic, this visit really brought it alive and supplied me with extra information and has allowed me to view Flanders Field with fresh eyes. Despite a late start due to problems with a coach the tour was excellent. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and the other travellers were good company. The weather was good which helped. It was a most interesting and moving experience. We visited the Flemish memorial, a German cemetery, Essex Farm Forward Dressing Station where the famous In Flanders fields.. poem was written, the West Yorkshire Trench found during the construction of an industrial estate, had an excellent lunch provided as part of the tour ion a very nice hotel in Ypres - visited the excellent Flanders Field museum in the Cloth Hall at Ypres though an hour was not long enough to take in everything on to the huge Tyne Cot cemetery - beautifully manicured as one expects with Commonwealth War Graves - past the Brooding Canadian soldier and Black Watch memorial statues and then to Hill 60. Here craters and shell-holes remain visible after over a century and there is the massive crater left by the huge explosion felt across the English Channel. The tour ended with the last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate - I did not expect such huge crowds of people - particularly school parties - but on the whole they behaved well and were silent for the superbly played last Post and moving wreath laying mainly by school children. It was a long day from 9.30 am until 10 pm when we arrived back in Brussels but worth every penny and something i will never forget.

This tour was a wonderful experience that I will never forget. The history of our WW1 soldiers was a emotional journey to where they are now laid to rest. A long day but worth every minute.

Amazing tour, the guide was extremely informative about the history. If you’re academic, love history this is a great tour. Keep in mind that they cram a lot in his tour so you’re always on the go. So you definitely get your money’s worth.
