Alexandria is a famous city which was built by Alexander the Great. The city is located beside the Mediterranean Sea. It has a rich historical heritage since ancient Egyptian times. The city connected between the Egyptian civilization and Greco Roman civilization.

Start your lovely day by meeting your guide at your hotel; take your high way from Cairo (about 3 hours' drive each way), arrive in the famous city then you will start exploring the city with your tour guide who will explain for you the old history of Alexandria. Your tour guide will talk with your about old Alexandria and the lighthouse of Alexandria, you will visit Roman catacombs of Kom ash-Shuqqafa, consisting of 3 levels for burial rooms which was discovered by donkey in 1901. Head to the Pompey Pillar, largest pillar in Egypt, listen to many stories about it with qualified Egyptologist tour guide. Then drive to fortress for Qaitbay locating beside the sea.

Finally you will explore by yourself the famous library (new Alexandria library) which has the fourth rank among the libraries all over the world. Take your lunch at a good quality seafood restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean, then you will go back directly to your hotel in Cairo.

Totally fantastic. Mawra from Let's Explore Egypt made the trip to Alexandria wonderful! Although a long ride from Cairo it went by so fast as we discussed many topics. Once we got to Alexandria explored catacombs, pillar, fortress and library where Mawra's expertise and professionalism shone.

Okay so how should I put this..the experience was made worse by our guide. Alexandria seems to be a beautiful, wonderful place but you need the proper guide. Our guide was late, didn't apologize for it but also the driver was late because he was sent to the wrong hotel. The tour guide apologized for that but proceeded to try to hook up me and my brother with Egyptians. Hey, if we had spent an hour or two getting to know each other this could be funny and fine but within 5 minutes you ask our relationship status...huge flag. Our tour started 45min late, our guide was a script and the only time he became animated was when trying to set up dates. Multiple time throughout the tour he got sidetracked by staring at women or trying to talk to them. We found it mostly funny except that he was inpatient and rushing along. He also seem to not be as knowledgeable about certain things or as caring about things that do not involving finding a girlfriend. During the ride to Alexandria he did very little explaining and even fell asleep, the driver woke him..in fact the driver seem to be incredulous to his behavior the entire trip. I don't do anything I don't want to do or well with underground, tight spaces and heights. So I went as high as I wanted on the citadel and as low as I could in the catacombs but what I saw was beautiful. He kept trying to make me do things or take certain pictures instead of asking if I would like too. Unlike other guides he didn't ask if he could sit with us and instead brought his awkwardness to lunch. I was highly uncomfortable with this trip and confused by some of his actions. Also traffic was horrendous coming back to Cairo and when we were almost there, he told us were going to stop at a perfume and oil place...not "hey would you like to go"...I felt like it was a ruse to get us there to sell us stuff so I told him I wanted to go back to my hotel. It wasn't an okay, instead he said we can get drinks and if you see something you buy it. So we had to tell him no again take us to the hotel. Maybe we had been spoiled but I found this to be my almost worst experience in Egypt.

A truly amazing tour. I got to check a ton of my bucket list with this tour. Catacombs, the pillar, the fort and a big one for me, the library of Alexandria. All this topped off with a delicious lunch at a seafood restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean and all the wonderful sites of the city. I felt like a Pharaoh or Roman emperor with such an amazing experience. My guide, Eraky is a very knowledgeable and interesting man. He has extensive knowledge of the region and its history, while also being able to build up the excitement of the tour over the entire day. I had a fantastic tour and I highly recommend this to anyone looking to check out this amazing city and its sites!

The tour was excellent and my tour guide Khaled was amazing. He was highly knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions. He took his time at each place we stopped to discuss the history and significance. He also provided a great deal of information throughout the drive which i really appreciated. The only negative is that when I signed up it said I would be picked up by a minivan and that I would have internet access in the minivan which is one of the reasons I chose this over other tours. I was picked up in a normal 4-door car, which had a good amount of room, but there was no internet access in the car. This was the only misrepresentation.

I highly recommend this tour. I had a fantastic time with Manar. She was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun to be with. She taught me so much about Alexandria and we had a fantastic lunch with a gorgeous view. Made my experience incredible. Manar is definitely the guide you should ask for!

alexandria was a great stop about 3 hours from cario drive time. Mohammed was my tour guide he was an expert, spoke great english, and knew what he was talking about alexandria is a beautiful city on the Mediterranean. the catacombs, citadel, alexandria library, and the pillar of Pompei were good stops. my lunch was a restaurant called the fish market it overlooked the the coast line of alexandria.
