You will be picked up from your hotel/accommodation by your private guide/representative (pickup time is flexible please specify at the time of booking), then you will be transferred to the papyrus workshop by a private, modern a/c vehicle. At the papyrus workshop/institute, a professional, enthusiastic local guide who can speak your language of preference will give you a class in papyrus, its history,meaning, different uses, how the ancient Egyptian made the first paper in history from its stem, the difference between genuine papyrus paper and fake one, you will even learn how to make your own paper. Then you will have a tour in the gallery to see different painting of ancient Egyptian, Christian and Islamic themes.

N.B. This is an educational tour, so you donot have to buy of the products, but if you do be sure it is authentic stuff.

At the end of the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel/accommodation.

The guide took us to the Papyrus Institute a d deposited us for a 5 minute explanation followed by pressure sales to buy. Then we went to a jeweler where again we were cornered to buy. When she asked a out going to a cotton shop we said no. At that point she said her mother lived in the area and got out of the car. The driver brought us back to the hotel a d then insisted on a big tip. He got a reasonable one.
