Pass By: Ok Lanka Travels, 393/2,Gonahena Kadawatha, Colombo 11850 Sri Lanka

You will be picked up from your hotel (only in Colombo city), Mount Lavinia or in front of Dutch hospital-Colombo 01 by our chauffeur guide at 06:30 am and commence the day tour to Kandy.

Stop At: Iparanigama Theme Park, Wagolla, Rambukkana, Sri Lanka

First you will be taken to the visit “Iparanigama Theme Park” in Pinnwala where it has been reconstructed the traditional village life in Sri Lanka around three centuries ago. You can see the traditional cultivation methods, economic system, culture of the ancient village, key places in a village and the major characters in a village etc.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: The Island Spice Grove, Utuwankanda, Mawanella 71500 Sri Lanka

After the memorable experience in Pinnawala you will be transferred to Kandy and on the way stop at a Spice garden where you will be introduced different spices of Sri Lanka and see how the spices are grown, harvested and produced. Then have lunch at a local restaurant.(Your expense)

Stop At: Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Sri Dalada Veediya, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka

After that transfer to Kandy and visit the temple of the sacred tooth relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa). This is one of the most sacred and important place of Buddhists. You will be able to see the room where the tooth relic is kept and many other places including Aluth Maligawa, Audience hall and World Buddhism museum.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Kandy View Point, Rajapihilla Mawatha, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka

Thereafter commence the sightseeing of Kandy city including Kandy lake, view point, Kandy city center , Kandy Market. Next you will be taken to visit Gem museum ,wood carving shop and silk shop.

Stop At: Embilmeegama Tea Factory, 151 Colombo Road Pilimathalawa, Embilmeegame 20450 Sri Lanka

Then proceed to a tea factory where you can taste variety of Ceylon tea and see how these the tea is produced in the factory.

On completion of the Kandy day tour transfer back to Colombo and you will be safely dropped at your hotel or at the place where you picked up.

This tour began with a booking over the phone in which I was able to connect with a very helpful and friendly woman from Viator who was able to answer my questions and book the trip. We met our guide, Mr. Rasika, early in the morning at our hotel and he and our driver spent the entire day showing us several beautiful sights. Mr. Rasika was extremely friendly, outgoing and knowledgeable about the sights on the tour and the country in general. Seeing so many places in one day was especially useful for our group due to our time constraints in Sri Lanka. We saw so much and learned so much in only one day! The company noted this to us beforehand, but please remember to bring enough money for all of the places you stop at, not all places accept credit cards, so it's important to have cash. Don't forget to bring money for tips as well. It's useful to research beforehand how much you should tip. We forgot to do this and it was a bit nerve wracking for us to decide in the moment. Also, they are quite strict when it comes to visiting temples. My dress was well below my knees, but there was a cut up the side up to the knee and so it wasn't acceptable for the temple. You really have to cover up well to be admitted. I would highly recommend this day trip with Mr. Rasika. Enjoy!

Nice and flexible tour. Touristic trappat Pinnawala elephant orohanage. Don’t go there and sponsor the bad treatment and chains on the elephants. Nice driver/guide that makes a tailor made tour from your wishes.

Had a wonderful time taking this trip with Mr. Rasika Guide and Satish. The trip started on time and the team were extremely courteous and jovial to travel with the whole day. Mr. Rasika keeps you engaged with all the local stories which is a big plus for a history buff like me :. He will be able to tell not only about Kandy but also about other hotspots in Srilanka.
