Your Copenhagen tour starts at the city’s central station before venturing into what used to be the roughest neighborhood in town. As the world’s most famous red light district of the '60s, Vesterbro quickly made a name for itself, which brought drugs, prostitution, tattoo shops, and dive bars along with it. Wandering the streets today, though, you’ll see first-hand how the neighborhood has changed.

Visit one of the few traditional bodegas still standing that has not been completely overrun by newcomers to the area. Here you will enjoy a beer and talk about what this establishment means to locals who have lived in the neighborhood all their life.

From there, make your way up one of the most famous streets in Denmark, where you will hear stories of the Vesterbro of the past. Travel through a quiet street where you will hear a drama-filled story of two siblings who had a nag for beer, which they turned into a hugely popular beer brand that resonates so well with the city’s contemporary way of life.

You'll also pass one of the city’s amazing parks and learn about its importance to the neighborhood. Then, enjoy an introduction to a local breakfast secret that you just must try.

Your tour will end at one of the newest additions to the Copenhagen bar scene: a Danish-Texan brewpub and restaurant that has taken Copenhagen by storm. Stay as long as you like, or, if you feel like exploring further, your guide will be happy to share dinner recommendations — there are many excellent places just around the corner.

I had a great experience with Mia on this tour! I was traveling solo on the back end of another trip and was the only person on the guided tour. It was a great way to see a neighborhood that you wouldn't on the standard walking or biking tours and get a lot of great color around the culture and customs in Copenhagen. The tour had 3 stops - each including a full beer. I would actually prefer to have done a full tasting at one or two of the stops to see the range in beer, but that's really my only feedback. Overall, a great time!

This was a phenomenal tour. Mie is an amazing wealth of knowledge and passion for this beautiful city and unique neighborhood. She was attentive to my questions. I felt as though I was with a local friend, which is what we all secretly wish when we travel solo. If you want to be taken off the beaten path, and connect with Copenhagen on a different level, take this tour. You will learn the history of the Vesterbro neighborhood, enjoy local art, life, and beer. My best advice would be to take this tour on your first day, and Mie will help you plan out the rest of your trip. Don't miss out on this one of a kind tour.

A wonderful tour and Mie was extremely knowledgable about Vesterbro and Copenhagen's beer culture. We had four beer stops although by the fourth stop, we opted for flavored water and even if you are not a beer lover, the tour would still fantastic. Mie was extremely customer focused and made some adjustments on the fly when she heard about our interests. We learned so much about the area, and about Copenhagen. At the end of the tour, she gave us other recommendations of places to visit/things to do based on our interests. Highly recommended!!!
