Vinicunca - Rainbow Mountain (1h 30 min Cusipata Trail)

This exciting experience starts at 5am, with one hour and a half bus drive to the small town of Cusipata where we will enjoy a hearty breakfast in a cozy restaurant, later we continue by bus one hour more going up to the starting point at the heights of Chillihuani Community (4600masl). There we will start our hiking adventure surrounded by fascinating views of the Hatun Ritty and Surimana Glaciers.

Spectacular views will be inspiring us while we complete the 1h 15min hike up to the

360° Red Valley Lookout point ( 5050 masl). The impresive Red Valley is a natural High Andean desert due to the deglaciation and intemperism at high altitudes. After a fantastic grupal photo oportunity and a short relaxing time, we continue with a 30 minutes soft descent to Vinicunca -

"The Rainbow Mountain" (5000 masl). Seeing Vinicunca in person is a once-in-a-lifetime visual treat, The beautiful colors of this natural formation are caused by minerals in the soil. While taking in these magnificent views, your guide will share some information with you about the composition of these mountains and how they became striated in the rainbow.

After having crowned our tour, and taken many pictures, the cold felt up there, will force us to start our way back. We´ll go on hiking downhill for 1h 30min. until we get to the roadside to board our vehicle to take us for a camp style lunch with magnificent views. Finally we will get back to Cusco, arriving there around 6pm
