Glendalough - one of the most beautiful visitor sights in all of Ireland, is also known for the Braveheart wedding scenes. It's renowned for its magnificent scenery and rich and varied heritage in terms of history and archaeology. You will have time to explore the ruined monastic city famed for St. Kevin's Cross and its round tower dating back to 10th century. We take time to take a leisurely stroll along the river banks through the woods to the magnificent lakes, waterfalls and babbling brooks. Be sure to bring your camera! You will enjoy 1,5 hrs at Glendalough.
Hollywood Blockbusters 'PS I Love You' and 'Braveheart'
If you're a fan of the Hollywood Blockbusters 'PS, I Love You' and 'Braveheart' then you will now officially be on the set! You'll understand why Mel Gibson (an Irish passport holder) chose the Wicklow mountains to be the Highlands of Scotland, and Glendalough to be the spot for the wedding scene. And then of course there are all the romantic scenes from 'PS I Love You', this is where Hilary Swank met Gerard Butler for the first time so who knows you you might meet ;)
We travel over the Wicklow Gap, which takes us way up into the Wicklow Mountains. This route allows spectacular panoramic views of the landscape, with amazing scenery stretching as far as the eye can see. We view traditional Irish bogs which provide the Irish householder with the source of energy that fuels our fires and provides power for many uses. Through the Wicklow Gap we also pass Turlogh waterfall, one of Ireland's most dramatic waterfalls and highest reservoir.
Arrive in Kilkenny, once the medieval capital of Ireland back in the 11th century. Situated on the banks of the river Nore, enjoy the picturesque windy and cobblestone streets. Explore the gardens of the famed Norman Castle dating back to the 1100s. Consider going inside and taking a tour of its palatial interior for a small optional fee. You have plenty of time to wander the streets and visit the Black Abbey or possibly see the Cathedral of Saint Canice with its magnificent round tower. With our guaranteed 2hrs stop you shall also have plenty of time for relaxed lunch and maybe try a pint of Kilkenny in Kilkenny. This a magnificent city to enjoy and savor and shall be a highlight of your visit to Ireland.

Wonderful sites. Wicklow Gap, Glendalough, Kilkenny The guide (Josh) and the driver were knowledgeable, funny and we learnt a lot about Ireland and its past. The pace of the tour was ok, allowing enough time to enjoy all the places seen. I strongly reccommend it. The stop at Glendalough is a little too long I think. Something else could be inserted in the schedule of the trip.
We originally rented a car to get around, but returned it just a few days before we left Ireland. We didn't want to be secluded to just Dublin so we chose this bus tour. Although we had already been to these places with the rental, there was so much more to see and explore! You have plenty of time to hike and venture out. I LOVE that it was self guided and you could choose what you wanted to see and do when at the destinations. Kilkenny was beautiful and the town itself is quaint with many pubs, restaurants, and shops. We didn't experience this on the tour but the pub, The Field, has great live music at night. I would highly recommend if you want a fun upbeat night in Kilkenny! Glendalough and Wicklow was just stunning! The ponds and lakes are so picturesque with the mountains as a back drop, it looks like a painting. You can't go wrong with this tour!
We had an awesome time.
Had a wonderful day and enjoyed this trip.
This tour was a great value for what you got. The tour guide/driver was knowledgeable and funny and could really maneuver that bus around those thin winding roads. Side note to that...if you tend to get carsick you are best off sitting at the front of the bus, these roads are bumpy and winding! Glendalough was gorgeous and the muffins in the little hotel restaurant there were fabulous. Kilkenny was very enjoyable. We chose to use our time there touring Kilkenny Castle. We had enough time to go in a few shops and stop for lunch. I would have enjoyed more time in this medieval town. Overall I highly recommend this tour. I also recommend starting the tour in the morning at the first meeting spot as the bus tends to fill up and it may be difficult to sit by family or friends if you join at the second or third location.
Kilkenny is a fabulous medieval town with lots of things to see.
Great and affordable tour. Amazing day to be out in the Irish country side! The cemetery and monastic site at Glendalough was really cool. Wicklow had amazing views and scenery. Kilkenny was awesome great town! Highly recommend this tour.
This was a wonderful trip...Our guide was great...We throughly enjoyed our many stops and the beautiful country, Would highly recommend
