Visit: Palazzo Pitti, Piazza Dei Pitti 1, 50125, Florence Italy
Make your own way to the Pitti Palace, home of the powerful Medici family during the Renaissance. Whisk your way past any entrance lines with your skip-the-line ticket, and head straight inside to explore at leisure.
The palace’s west wing is home to the Palatine Gallery, which displays more than 500 works of European art. Much of the artwork dates back to the 17th century, and is showcased in the plush private rooms of the ducal apartments.
Wander rooms decorated with gold-framed works by the likes of Bronzino, Caravaggio, Rubens, Titian, Van Dyke, and Velazquez. Don’t miss Raphael’s Madonna and Child and the two impressive Botticelli portraits.
After admiring the Renaissance and Baroque masterpieces, head upstairs to visit the Gallery of Modern Art. The rooms here were lived in by royalty until as recently as 1920, and a sizeable collection of 18th- and 20th-century art is on display. Look out for paintings by the Macchiaioli movement — a group of Tuscan artists dubbed “the Italian impressionists.”

We had the misfortune of booking the day the Pitti Palace closed due to the terrible weather. Although we were offered the chance to use them another day we had moved on to Venice.
I HAD MY PAPER SHOWING THE SKIP THE LINE FOR THIS TOUR BUT I SHOULD HAVE ASKED QUESTIONS INSTEAD OF WAITING IN LINE ALONG WITH THE OTHERS FOR MY TICKET SO THAT WAS MY FAULT. HOWEVER THE LINE MOVED QUICKLY AND WASN'T THAT LONG ON THAT DAY I WENT.. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOU HAVE THIS TOUR WITH A GUIDE BECAUSE IT IS VERY OVERWHELMING. I THINK IT WOULD HAVE MADE THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE HISTORY OF THE PITTI PALANCE BETTER CINDY FROM NORTH CAROLINA
The line was not very long and the price from Viator is more than double. But what is inside is worth seeing, a lot of extraordinary rooms and lovely paintings. We took 3 hours to see the Palace and the Boboli Garden and we were in a rush a little
