Pilanesberg game reserve is in the Bojanala Region of the North West Province of South Africa, adjacent to Sun City. Pilanesberg National Park is the home of virtually every mammal of Southern Africa. Also home to the Big Five. Come and enjoy a day of Wildlife game viewing in specially adapted open 4x4 safari vehicles. Your guide will drive you through this nature reserve in search of the Big 5 (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard). Not only will you search for these animals but also others that make the Pilanesburg their home, including Giraffe, Zebra, Hippo and various Antelope.

After lunch, you will enjoy a closed vehilce safari drive in search of any animals that have elduded you on your safari thus far. We depart the National park between 15:00 - 15:30, depening on the game veiwing and return to your hotel in Johannesburg before sunset.

Loved this safari! The tour company was on time and very professional. The reserve is about 2 hours away from Joburg. Once we got there we got into the open air cars with rangers. The rangers were very knowledgable and tried to track the animals so we saw them. We ended up on a longer driver because our ranger wanted to track down the Lions. However the lions were sleeping. We saw giraffes, rhinos, hippos, zebras, and other animals. The lunch by the watering hole was nice. The animals came up close to the patio. The food was alright but you’re there for the animals. The second drive in the afternoon was in a closed vehicle. Would def visit again.

I was a little bit disappointed with our driver as he was not friendly and was unaccommodating. He was always rushing us with everything. Aside from that, I really liked our tour guide, and I liked the safari park as well. Although we did not get to complete the big 5, our tour guide made the extra effort to at least look for them intently and we also got the chance to see Amarula.

Overall your was great. Tremendous value. Your driver was timely and attentive and very informative with good humor as well. Was able to see 4 of the 5 Big Five. The lunch provided was surprisingly good. Overall, great value!

The one thing that was not clear was that it was only one game drive in the open jeep and then the other one in the enclosed van. Luckily I was able to upgrade.

An amazing day after a great stuff up by us, we had booked the tour in advance as you do, however after doing so many things we got ours days mixed up and late on in the morning of the day we had booked the tour realised we should have been on a tour. After quick email and an apology to the company we booked with they re-sheduled us for the follow day at no extra cost. Once at the Reserve the day past quickly with the sighting of many animals, many thanks. Graeme and Penny

The safari itself was a good experience but the bus ride from Johannesburg to Pilanesburg was very uncomfortable. This is a 2 hour ride each way and the bus transporting customers needs to be bigger with comfortable sitting.
