Om denne aktiviteten
Be at the pickup place (centrally located), and then travel by coach to the site of Auschwitz-Birkenau in Oświęcim, a small Polish town roughly an hour away.

When you arrive at your destination, you will be met by your professional guide and enter the site at Auschwitz I, walking through the gate to the camp that bears the inscription Arbeit Macht Frei (Work Sets You Free).

The Auschwitz-Birkenau complex was established in 1940, originally to hold Polish political prisoners, and operated for five years before the remaining prisoners were liberated in 1945. During its operation, more than 1.5 million Jewish, Polish, Italian and French prisoners were brought here as part of one of the world's largest attempts at genocide.

The museum and memorial were founded in 1947, combining the area of KL Auschwitz (Auschwitz I) in Oświęcim and the Birkenau camp (Auschwitz II) in Brzezinka. The camp comprises approximately 150 buildings and you can see the original roads, fences, watchtowers and railway ramps that have all been preserved.

Visit some of the barracks on the Auschwitz I complex, which now house a collection of original exhibitions and documents, as well as articles confiscated from prisoners upon their arrival at the camp. After exploring the Auschwitz I complex, your host will meet you to take you by coach for the short journey to nearby Birkenau (Auschwitz II) where your tour will continue. Here you will see the original fences and crematoriums as well as the remains of the colossal gas chambers.

Your tour then concludes with a drop-off at the city centre.

This was a must do on our list. It was sobering to actually see it in reality, but important to know this history. What a sad part of history! Try to go in good weather as it’s mostly outside and can be muddy. Our guide was knowledgeable but her accent and high voice made her difficult to understand through the headphone.

This tour is a must for anyone visiting the Krakow area. The tour itself was amazing. Our guide spoke excellent English and went with us from Auschwitz I and II. He gave us a ton of information and was very respectful of the place. The driver was excellent and make sure that the temperature and the volume of the video were perfect.

the tour company was very courteous. However the driver of our tour bus was texting as he was driving and that should not be allowed. He is responsible for all the people on the bus and that could have been problematic, The bus .was clean and the guide was easy to understand.

+ The driver did a great job getting us to the different sites. The van we were in was very comfortable. - Once we got to Auschwitz we were met a tour guide who was not fluent in English. Unfortunately we missed out since we could not understand her at times.

No matter how much you have been taught or seen tv footage of the holocaust the tour brings to the fore how evil humans can be to each other. Everyone needs to visit to keep the history alive. We should never forget.

From online booking, the vehicle and driver used to transport us and the guides at Auschwitz we could not fault the service provided. The tour itself is a must for anyone who is visiting the area and although harrowing it is to Poland’s credit that the complex was turned into a museum so that future generations can learn about the atrocities carried out there and hopefully ensure such events will never be repeated.

An excellent and very well delivered tour. The guide provided the information in a sensitive and detailed way during a long tour which was appropriate for the subject matter.

Amazing and emotional trip, one not to miss when you visit Krakow. The tour was well organised, we were picked up from our hotel - it was so easy. The Camps have an emotional eeriness around them but we were glad we visited. The museum was laid out in a well organised way and it was not too crowded. The Tour Rep was full of information. We must ensure we don't forget the atrocities that happened here. Tip - if you go in October - wrap up warm and bring some tissues!

To see the living conditions for so many people, the gas chamber and the various cells in Auschwitz and then the vastness of Birkenau and how that was all planned out and the sleeping conditions in one of the huts was very interesting. We visited on a cold blustery day and although wearing coats etc found it quite cold and brought another dimension to how all who went there suffered in those conditions with thin 'uniforms' The exhibits in Auschwitz were also very moving.
