'Tomb Raider Temple', Ta Prohm is cloaked in dappled shadow, its crumbling towers and walls locked in the slow muscular embrace of vast root systems. Undoubtedly the most atmospheric ruin at Angkor, Ta Prohm should be high on the hit list of every visitor. Its appeal lies in the fact that, unlike the other monuments of Angkor, it has been swallowed by the jungle, and looks very much the way most of the monuments of Angkor appeared when European explorers first stumbled upon them.

Ta Prohm is especially famous and known to locals as "Tomb Raider Temple" or "Temple of Angelina Jolie" as used in the filming Tomb Raider which sees the actress in the role of Lara Croft. This temple is particularly picturesque because it was invaded by the jungle with ficus thugs who are seizing the ruins. The tour continues with a visit to the temple of Bantey Kdei which is considered the younger brother of Ta Prohm

Picturesque baray opposite Banteay Kdei. Originally constructed by the same architect that built Pre Rup. Remodeled in the 12th century as part of Jayavarman VII's massive building campaign. A multi-tiered landing platform on the west edge of the baray is adorned with naga balustrades and guardian lions. The very sparse remains of an island temple can be seen poking from the middle of the lake during the dry season when the water is low. Srah Srang offers a pleasant, less touristed sunrise alternative to Angkor Wat.

This Mandarin speaking guide was very knowledgeable and talkative. He gave us constant information about the temples, that we may have missed out during the other English speaking temple day group tour. It was a private tour in a private car. We visited 2 temples only, of which 1 we didn't see yet in the other group tour, so it was good. The massage location was very out of nowhere, where lots of construction were and the place looked like a very local 'backstreet' place. When we asked for the price on extending the massage hour, there were giving us a very ridiculous expensive price. And the massage we had was OK, inside a room with 4 mattresses on floor. The place looked worn out, not so clean. The ladies weren't so nice and there weren't many visitors, only the masseurs.
