I went on this tour with my wife and 11-year-old son. Our tour guide was Kaori. Kaori was very prepared and knowledgeable. She knew her way around the market and the Gion District. She was able to provide a lot of information as we walked around. It was very hot on the day of our tour, but Kaori made sure the group was hydrated and we took enough breaks to keep us comfortable. I even learned the difference between a Geisha, Geiko, and Maiko. I mentioned to Kaori my family became separated while riding the bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto the day prior to the tour. The doors shut while my wife was still outside the train. My son and I were still on the train and the train left. We ended up finding each other later, but the experience was terrifying. Kaori took note of all this to ensure it did not happen again. She knew what time the tour ended and what time our bullet train was going to depart. She made sure we made it to the train station with plenty of time to spare. She hailed a taxi for us and gave the driver instructions on what he needed to do to get us there early. Additionally, she emailed me later to check on us to make sure we made it on the train. She said she was worried about us. Kaori went above and beyond what a tour guide regularly would do. I highly recommend her for your next tour!

I work part-time as a food tour guide and I try to take food tours on most of my major trips. This was definitely one of the best I've done! Fuji-san was so personable and knowledgeable. We had some small children on our tour and she was so easy going and flexible. We got so much more than what the tour said we'd get and I felt like I learned a lot but in a totally chill atmosphere.

I'm not usually someone who does tours but I decided to give this a try and was pleasantly surprised. Naomi our guide was wonderful and we ended up being able to sample a wide array of foods while also learning about them. At the end of the tour they even gave us recommendations on where to head out for drinks and my new tour group friends and I went out after and had a wonderful time.

Fabulous tour! We had two guides, Aiko and Tanake for our group of 3. They were funny, informative and provided us with just enough of the Japanese cultural history. They knew all of the Nishiki Market vendors and were familiar with their food offerings. Great day! Highly recommend!
