TOUR DESCRIPTION

We will leave Santander towards Puente Viesgo, a beautiful small village next to El Castillo mount which has four caves with Paleolithic art. We will visit two of these caves, both of them had been declared World Heritage by Unesco since 2008: we will visit "El Castillo Cave" (which is the largest cave and contains the oldest paintings in the world dated at least 40.800 years) and "Las Monedas Cave" (The Coins). This last cave contains designs drawn in charcoal from about 12,000 years ago and has an important geologic value due to its inside geological formations.

Afterwards, we will spend some time visiting Puente Viesgo. From this place, we will star our e-bike tour along the route of “Via Verde” del Pas (with an electric bike). This green path is in fact an old railway path that has been transformed into this pedestrian/bike path. The ride is totally flat so it is suitable for all ages and even recommended for families.

Along the route, you will enjoy a green landscape and you will cross some bridges and rivers of spectacular beauty. If you want, you can bring a picnic and we can even have lunch in the countryside.

In any case, we will finish our bike tour in Ontaneda (1 hour approx of cycling) from where we will continue towards the incredible "Pasiegos Valleys" up to the "Mirador de la Braguía" from where you will enjoy lovely views of the area.
