The convenience of hotel pick-up in Madrid was awesome. The tour and tour guide was fantastic and leaving us in the center was perfect. We walked leisurely through the city and even walked back to our hotel.
The sights were incredible and the guide was knowledgeable very nice. My suggestion would be to do a full day tour so you don’t feel rushed through and can see more of the sites
Can thoroughly recommend this trip. We had a fantastic guide, Cristina, who was clearly knowledgeable and passionate about her subject. It was quite a whistle stop tour and felt a little rushed. Would have liked longer at the Valley of the Fallen. Despite being advertised as 15 maximum in the group, there were at least double that however. Very pleased we went and with such a good guide.
These sites are not to be missed. Guide was bilingual and spoke in English and Spanish. Guide was not clear when spoke in English and English was not well spoken enough to be fully understood. Very disappointed.
The tour had an amazing guide. His knowledge of the sites visited, the history of of the sites visited and the historical and religious figures that had an impact on them was exhaustive. His mastery of the facts was combined with a terrific personality. The El Escorial was a fantastic museum and the Valley of the Fallen gave a very dramatic picture of Spain's troubled recent history and the controversy created by this particular place. Highly recommended tour.
First the tour is good, we were picked up in our Hotel, the bus ride was great, beautiful green scenery along the highway, our tour guide speaks Spanish and English. I have a hard time to understand of what she was saying but I already researched the history of the Monastery and the valley of the Fallen, so no big deal. Its really an interesting place, the basilica is so cool.
This is a magnificent tour. Highly recommend it, such great royalty history. I am so grateful for this tor tour, would do it over again..
El Escorial was a lot of steps - up and down so if steps are an issue be very aware there are a lot. The Valley of the Fallen was the highlight for me as it was amazing when you get inside - I just thought it was a memrial outside with the amazing cross and the buildings but wait until you enter - It was not expected and it was fantastic. Really worth the trip.
This was a good tour. Only takes about a half a day. El Escorial is very interesting and the crypts are the star of this tour. So interesting and very beautiful. Unfortunately there is a library that is very decorated and beautiful, but it was not open the day we were there. The Valley of the Fallen is also very interesting and rather grand in scale. Highly recommend this tour.
Was very good and interesting tour. Our guide was extremely good. Unfortunately do not remember his name. El Escorial an amazing place. Definitely great destination
A wonderful day. So very interesting. Only drawback was that our guide spoke Spanish and English, so everything had to be said in two languages. This meant that it was slow going and we missed some of the tour as a result. The tour itself was wonderful and definitely not to be missed. Would highly recommend it and give it a 5 rating. Hotel pick up was nice but end of tour drop-off point was quite a distance away and necessitated taking a cab back to the hotel. Overall, a wonderful experience.
