Om denne aktiviteten
Your Spanish cooking class begins by meeting your guide at a central location. After an introduction to the guide and the rest of your small group, head to the vibrant Atarazanas market. Paella is Spain’s most famous dish and a global icon of their cuisine. Learn about its roots as you peruse the market with a chef, learning about the necessary ingredients and meeting the local purveyors, for a true taste of Spanish culture and history.
After the market, a short 5-minute walk lands you at the modern kitchen where your cooking experience takes place, in the SOHO Art District. Upon arrival, enjoy a tasting of different local, extra virgin olive oils and entrees like roasted almonds, Aloreña olives and a “tostón de bacalao”, a very special and popular snack from this area (cateto bread with cod and orange). Roll up your sleeves and learn how to cook paella and traditional gazpacho. Throughout the activity you will be guided by a member of the team, a so called food-sherpa, who is an expert in our culture and local gastronomy.
After the cooking class, enjoy the fruits of your labor and dine on the dishes you created, expertly paired with wines. At the end of class, continue exploring on your own.

What an amazing experience. The Paella class was one of the highlights of our trip to Malaga. It was held in a beautifully appointed kitchen with plenty of room for all of us to cook. There were about 16 students, our teacher, Ampora, and her assistant Felipe. Ampora doesn't speak English and Felipe translated but that didn't keep her from communicating with us. Her love of cooking and knowledge was apparent throughout. The paella was easy to make and we were given lots of tips to make ours at home turn out. We also made gazpacho, which was also delicious. After creating our masterpieces one paella per two students, we sat down to eat and had a wonderful local white wine to go with it. We also munched on local almonds, roasted and salted, and local olives. This is definitely something to experience while in Malaga. We really loved it!
This class was fantastic! Felipe our guide was extremely knowledgeable, informative and patient with a very good grasp of the English language. Ampara, the chef was also very nice, a master of her craft and great with my ten year old son, trying and succeeding in keeping him interested. The end result, our delicious paella was even better than I was expecting and I can't wait to get back home to try and recreate our masterpiece for family and friends. I would not hesitate, in fact I strongly encourage anyone spending a few days in Malaga to enrol in this course.
