Om denne aktiviteten
Experience a tropical paradise at Flamingo Gardens. With over 3000 species of native and exotic plants, exploring the botanical gardens will take visitors across the world without ever needing to leave Florida. The wildlife sanctuary is also home to over 85 native species, including the garden’s namesake, the flamingo, and is a fantastic place to relax and be at one with nature.
Flamingo Gardens is many things: botanical gardens, wildlife sanctuary, aviary, and museum - but above all, it's a fun and educational place to spend some family time in Miami.
Stroll through the many specialty gardens, such as the Florida Wildflower Garden, Butterfly and Hummingbird Gardens, or the Arboretum where you’ll find the gigantic Champion trees (including the largest tree in Florida).
The sanctuary provides refuge to injured and non-releasable animals, including panthers, otters, alligators, bobcats, and eagles (to name but a few), many of which are also on display during daily wildlife encounter shows.
To get an overview, take one of the free narrated tram tours through some of the many different ecosystems, including areas untouched for over a century. The tours depart every half hour.
Flamingo Gardens is also home to the Wray Home Museum. Set among 200-year-old oak trees, this weekend home is part of Floridian history. Restored in 1991, guided tours transport visitors back to a bygone era.
Like Florida itself, Flamingo Gardens is a diverse, entertaining and wild daytrip into what makes the Sunshine State great.
