The Bohris are a small sub-sect of the Shia Muslim community and are believed to originate from Yemen. They slowly migrated to Surat in Gujarat, India and now they’re present in all parts of the world. This migration resulted in a cultural exchange and the Bohri culture, especially the food, got sprinkled with Yemeni, Arabic and Gujarati flavors.
It is these flavors that The Bohri Kitchen brings to you, inside a traditional Bohri household cooked by a very Bohri mother - Nafisa Kapadia.
The Kapadia's welcome you to their very traditional Bohri home, go back in time as you sit here listening to the story of the origin of Bohris and experience their tradition of sharing food on a 4 ft thaal between 7 people while indulging in a 8 course meal that is definitely not for the faint hearted (or tight belted)!

Smoked Mutton Kheema Samosas -
The TBK signature
crunchy patti samosas stuffed with smoked minced kheema, coriander & spring onions
Chicken Seekh with Mom Chef’s secret sauce

Soft and tender chicken seekh which will be served with a secret sauce
Meethas (Sweet Dish)

The Bohri version of curd rice topped with desiccated coconut & pomegranate

Raan in Kaju Masala
- 1-1.5kg worth of lamb leg that's marinated for 48 hours and cooked in a masala made with Kaju and fresh cream. Topped with coriander and boiled egg!
Jaman (Main Course)
Lagan Ni Seekh & Roti

A classic Bohri dish with minced mutton cooked with secret masalas and topped with lots of egg. Served with homemade gehu rotis
Mutton Dum Biryani

Our traditional incredibly dum biryani which is made in a layered style and has small pieces of roasted potatoes

Hand churned creamy ice cream in seasonal flavors (Mango, Guava etc)
