Cayo Levantado, also known as «Bacardi Island», is an islet in the bay of Samaná, which belongs administratively to the Province of Samaná, northeast of Santo Domingo Island in the Dominican Republic. It is a well-known tourist destination in that country. The nearest airport, Samana, is 68 kilometers away, and the island also has a hotel.1 It has about 1 kilometer of extension.2 It has humid forest vegetation and white sand beaches and turquoise waters

Awesome experience. Started off bad by not being picked up in the morning, but the guide was extremely accommodating by getting us a private driver to get us to the catamaran on time. Very good lunch at the island. Then headed up to the horses to ride up to the waterfall. The guides with the horses were very nice and helpful. Long day.
