10am Your friendly local guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel and you will launch on a thrilling journey along the Neva river, which is a must-to-do experience in the “Venice of the North”. Hydrofoil is the quickest and most beautiful way to get to the main attraction of St. Petersburg.

12pm Then you will explore the Peterhof together with your friendly local guide, who will tell you amusing stories and fun facts of the intriguing past. The gorgeous Grand Palace and park complex is called the Kingdom of fountains. 176 fountains and water cascades decorate the park composition.

4 of us 3 adults and 1 teenage boy were on the tour. Our tour guide, Andrew, was great and a good story-teller. The palace and garden of Peterhof were magnificent and impressive. We were happy about the tour and had a great day. However, we were not happy about the arrangement from the tour company. It's the first time for us to visit St. Petersburg/Russia and we didn't know and I admit that I need to bear certain responsibility that the river was still frozen. We booked the tour with hydrofoils and were charged more for taking hydrofoils option. However, only 2 days before the tour, we were told that we couldn't reach Peterhof via hydrofoils because the river was still frozen. The tour company apologized and made it sound like it's out of their control due to the weather. But when we arrived in St. Petersburg, we were told by locals that the hydrofoils never start before 15 April as the weather is still always cold in St. Petersburg in March/early April. That means, the tour company is selling something that cannot be fulfilled and the tour package with hydrofoils is more expensive than a normal one to go there by car. We received only EUR28.4 refund in total for 3 adults and 1 child. You do the maths and will understand the trick behind. This is a matter of integrity to me.
