Meet your professional photographer guide in Circular Quay before setting off on your 4-hour walking photography tour. Your guide will introduce you to your camera and the meaning of the many different signs and symbols as well as the many buttons and dials before you set off. You’ll start the day feeling like a professional as your guide explains in simple terms, giving you the confidence you need for the tour ahead.

Along the way, your guide will teach you tricks and skills to create quality images using composition, easy win techniques and simple effects. You’ll learn how to use your camera to create extraordinary memories of your Sydney tour and for any future travels ahead.

This tour focuses on the basics of photography and won’t leave you feeling overwhelmed with technical information. Your tour is a more ‘hands on approach’ and with such a small group size, almost feels one-on-one.

After learning the basics of navigation and the many control functions, learn about the choice of lens and its effect on creating spectacular images as well as how to create effects like a shallow depth-of-field quickly and easily. Learn to use simple composition techniques to improve any image and how to be creative using shutter priority. Your professional photographer guide will explain in simple terms the relationship between aperture, shutter and ISO and how they work together to create the final image.

Discover color balance and what it means, learn how to produce different moods using the direction of light and what to look for when looking for the ‘quality of light’. Understanding composition and the characteristics of light in your photography is invaluable in creating the right mood, feel and emotion.

By the end of the tour, you’ll feel more confident in handling your camera and with simple and easy methods you’ll be able to create incredible images on your own.

A DSLR, compact camera or smart phone is required. To achieve the most from this photography tour using a DSLR camera is recommended. Please bring the manual if you have one, as well as at least one memory card and a set of fully charged spare batteries.
