I truly enjoyed my visit with Marcus and Naomi. The trip provided information on points of interest from Vienna to Salzburg, from bits of history, local opinions, Mozart and the Sound of Music. This went past my expectations and the smaller group was extremely fun to experience as a private tour. Truly one of the gems of my trip to Austria! Thank you Marcus and Naomi. Patrick
It was wonderful trip beyond my highest expectations. Our guide tell us very interesting stories about Vienna , Austria, and places we were driving by. I'd like to thank him again for this beautiful day.
Had a beautiful drive to Salzburg with stops in the lake region while getting lots of history and info from our druver, Markus. Once in Salzburg, we met up with our walking tour guide, Peter, who had a wonderful personality and made the tour very enjoyable with history and stories. Salzburg itself was beautiful and we enjoyed exploring for a few hours on our own after the guided walking tour.
This day trip is long, and you spend a lot of time on the minibus, but that said, it is a good way to see Salzburg if you have limited time in Asutria. Ben our driver was great and tried hard and successfully to make it interesting despite the fog which limited the sights he would normally have pointed out on the way, and was kind and helpful. Despite the long car time (at least it was a really comfortable minibus, with iPads and wifi and preloaded with the Sound of Music) it did enable us to see some of th beautiful countryside and lake areas. Karen our guide in Salzburg, also knowledgeable, but took us through rather too speedily for me. Worth it with our limited time, but perhaps make time to,actually start in Salzburg?
Wonderful trip. Lake Region looks exactly like a postcard or tour book picture and shouldn’t be missed. Salzburg’s a lovely city and it was fun to see locations where the Sound of Music was filmed. Ben, our driver, picked us up promptly and was very knowledgeable and informative on the trip to and from—ask for him for your trip. And our guide in Salzburg (Karina?) also was knowledgeable and did an excellent job pointing out important sites and passing on pertinent historical information. Overall a great trip which I’d recommend.
the trip was awesome. The drive is so .......nice and arranged the schedule so well. The tour guide at Salzburg was excellent . He explained the history and provide the best recommendation to everyone. The 12 hr trip was definitely my highlight in Vienna, Highly recommend to every one.
My only complaint would be that I could have happily spent more time in Salzburg.
My friends and I a group of three booked this trip as tour transportation - an interesting and efficient way to get from Vienna, where we'd been staying for a few days, to Salzburg, where we were departing for our trip home. The small van, which ended up only having the three of us and the driver, was PERFECT for providing relaxing travel while hearing about the country and seeing great views. Ben, our driver, and Phillip, our Salzburg walking tour guide, were excellent! Both provided lots of history and info, as well as suggestions for things to come back and see, places to eat, and tips and tricks for navigating Austria. I would definitely book this same trip, and will look for other opportunities to book through Viator in other cities. Excellent experience!!!
