Meet your guide at Cathedral Square and get instructions about snowshoeing before starting the tour. Walk to the hills right next to Old Town and begin the snowshoe hike in the valley of Vilnia River. Climb up the chain of hills on the right bank of Vilnia. Visit monumental Three Crosses on the Crooked Hill and see the best view of the Gediminas Castle. Continue on the forest trails and have different perspectives of the city from the top of every hill.

There will be some easy to moderate climbs and descents on the way and the guide will adjust the route depending on conditions. After the tour you will return to the starting point. Please dress accordingly to the weather conditions, wear appropriate footwear (snow boots or waterproof hiking shoes and warm socks), warm gloves and a winter jacket.

IMPORTANT: This tour is a subject to change in case of bad weather conditions. If there’s a lack of snow, you can cancel your booking or we can offer you a regular hike without snowshoes as an alternative.

Our guide was so helpful. When we told him we had already visited the place he was due to take us, he offered to drive us to a different region. We had an excellent time and booked a second trip to Trakai where we walked on the frozen lake to the castle. The equipment was new and cleverly designed. Our guide grew up in Vilnius and he talked about the safety aspect of snowshoeing and walking on the lakes which made us feel totally safe throughout the whole experience. I would highly recommend this trip

It was a fantastic experience with a great guide. Snowshoes were nothing like I imagined - in old pictures they look a bit like tennis racquets but in fact they have big metal claws underneath which grip into ice, and a plastic rim which sits on top of the snow. With the shoes on, we were able to scramble up a very icy hillside to get a fantastic view of Vilnius from the highest vantage point. Simas our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining and told us all the history of Vilnius and the three hills that we climbed. Definitely a high point of our trip!
